Overall Responsibilities

Product knowledge 

have an in-depth knowledge of every item we carry 

understand how our products are used on the construction project

know what the steps and timeline are for various project completions and what products are needed at each step

be familiar with competitors products and the advantages/disadvantages of ours over theirs

Service existing accounts:

know their account history with us: sales, margin, product mix

focus on increasing our share of their business,

improve our overall account margin,

increase your depth of knowledge of their business,

maintain or increase their satisfaction levels,

support outside sales representatives as needed

Increase our customer base:

via site visits, telephone calls, direct mailings, e-mails and use of your network increase our base of good customers,

work on strategies with the sales team to improve our market share,

monitor trade journals for new projects and make contact as needed,

network at association sessions to meet potential contacts.

Budgeting and Planning:

work with sales team members on establishing future year budgets by customer, product, and territory

work with sales team in planning sessions


liaison with warehouse team members and accounting staff to ensure that policy and controls are maintained in the receiving, shipping and warehouse areas of the business,

work with accounting to ensure pricing models are maintained and adhered with,

order inventory within policy guidelines


work with team members, accounts, and industry associations to improve your depth of knowledge of the forming, tilt-up and concrete products and industry.  This includes product knowledge, application in the field, and the knowledge of the forming and tilt-up stages during a project development,

attend supplier certification seminars as available, attend trade school estimator courses or other such

Communicating & Building Relationships

acknowledge customers by name when you see them

have a dialogue with them about their existing projects, state of business activity, and how we can help

demonstrate to them that we can add value to their business with our product knowledge and service support
